2004 W209 CLK500 Convertible
CLK 500 cabriolet top question.
I purchased a CLK knowing there was a issue with the drop top.
Yes, I got a good deal...anyways.
The canvas is pulling away from the rear window a little bit. The rest of the top is perfect.
I went to Jim's upholstery in SD. He saw the pull and just said they need to replace the whole top [1700 ]as a cable is pinching the window seal.
I seems pretty wasteful for little issue. The seal is good so far, rain is not getting into the cabin.
Whats the ghetto fix for this besides me putty knifing the cloth back into the seal.

I would try to get a hold of the service manual. Then you can find out how the seals and fabric are assembled. But from the looks of this, I'd say lift up the curled part of the seal and use a plastic putty knife like you suggested. If you did replace the top, what would stop the same issue from happening again?
