Cam Questions
I've attached 2 Youtube video's You can see the rpm never lays down & Pulls to 6800 rpm , No loss of bottom end Torque. The other is the cold start up. & Idle quality on a Mass air flow sensor type system. The motor holds 17" of Mercury at a idle in gear. Takes about 300 miles of adaptation for the idle to smooth up a little. This car Has a Modern horsepower ECU & TCU tune , It works very well and Andy did not disappoint me.

The car sounds great, plus I like the fact that there is no shift lag either. I'm looking for cams and a TCU for my next round of mods, but I can only find Kleemann Options (which is okay for me since I have a Kleemann Supercharger too).
Thanks
- I'm concerned with passing the Smog sniffer test with these cams, can you confirm whether that would be an issue?
- I assume these cams are for N/A M113 V8s (you have a 2005 CLK55 right)?
- Did you do any hardware changes to the transmission in order shift so fast (for a Mercedes CLK)?
- Is there a webpage I can go to get more info on the cams/TCU?
Thanks

Everything's cool Wes, really busy with work lately; so I don't really get to chime in as often. I'm am looking forward to this March Mercedes meet in SoCal, I'll finally get to meet some of the members and check out their rides. How's everything with you?
With the Supercharger installed, I've noticed that the transmission shifts are REALLY slow (no slower than before, but now it's noticeable); so when I saw this video I had to find out what was done.

Everything is good man. Glad to hear the beast is running smooth. I'm also waiting on some more info about these cams. I will hopefully be starting my build at the end of the month and really don't want to spend $2500 on Kleeman cams.
Did you ever post a video?

Next time I go WOT, I will take note of the shift RPM.

That's cool brotha! No video yet and I don't expect to have one any time soon.
I want to clarify my earlier comment. My transmission does not behave any differently than it did before my Supercharger install (if anything, the tranny short shifts more under normal driving because of the extra torque). The perception of speed is greater (because of the extra torque and better top end), so when it's finally time to shift, the lag is even more noticeable (verses the stock motor). When I saw PTE's transmission shift, I could tell right away that the shift times improved and so I wanted to inquire what TCU/Tranny mods he did.

The reason I asked is because my CL55 w'HPS Supercharger were having slow shiftting problem at top and cause the engine to hit the redline rev limiter. It reality, it was not because of tranny shifting slower (it was still shifting at the same speed) it was because the power came out way faster now with the sc and the engine hit the rev limiter before the tranny shift. To fixed the problem, we rise the engine rev limiter to 6600 rpm to give time for the tranny to shift and fixed the problem.

I wonder how these cams would work with the Kleemann setup. I'm guessing you'd need a vaiance on the Kleemann tune, aka, custom.

Drago - Kleemann has cams for your beast.
As for PTE, he has been replying in the CLK55 AMG section.

Yeah, the Kleemann headers, cams and tune on the 550 give you around the same numbers as the same plus a supercharger on the 500. The full kit for the 500 is supposed to be around 500bhp, the available kit for the 550 is around 460bhp (as you mentioned). Both are beast cars once Kleemannized!
BTW, did you ever get that 550 on a dyno???
