although the interior on the s5 is awesome, the performance is worse than horrendous. Straight line speed the Mercedes will pulverize the s5 and 335.

Yeah but they're totally different cars. Size is sorta comparable, but engines are way off. You've got a pair of blown 6s vs a big v8. HP differs by what... 80HP almost? The Audi is my favorite looking, BMW is favorite handling, MB is favorite overall.

It's going to be at least another year (or first sign of problems with CLK) before I'd even consider trading her in. I will be looking for something newer than what the CLK series can offer. I don't know how I forgot about Porsche. I have always wanted one, but that's a road I've been cautious to take considering maintenance. Who knows, if I can do the majority of my own work on the MB maybe the Porsche wont be too bad either....

otherwise i'll probably just end up getting an SUV so i can pull the boat again.

They are a pain to work on and it sux when you have to drop the motor to work on them but super fun cars. My Boxster S is the best handling car I have ever owned. And I have even hit around 53ish mph before needing to shift out of 1st and into 2nd.

Denero is the main deterrent from the CLK63. Had I the funds, I would definitely go that route.

I agree, boxsters are hell-a-fun to drive. I had a 99 Boxster and even though it had about as much power as a dishwasher, it was a hoot in the corners.

Yeah, looks wise (obviously they look nothing alike) they're similar. They're both good cars, but both fall short in the looks department.

I beg to differ! I hated the Panarooskie at first, then after one blew by me on the interstate with a loud exhaust and sexy stepped lip wheels I found that my pants had fit tighter.

Haha, can't say I've ever heard that one, but well put. I suppose both are cars that people will always debate the looks of, folks will by whatever makes them happy. For Pete's sake, a few unfortunate souls bought Aztecs? (please don't think I'm comparing ANY vehicle to the Aztec, except for a something like a sewage truck....on fire)

+1 for the CLK 550. An MB never goes out of style
Plus, you will love the V8. I am planning to get headers down the road.

Yeah thats how I feel about the w209. I have the same feelings about the BMW 8-Series. It's got classic lines that will always look good. (Although you're more likely to see a w209 on the road in 20 years than an 8-series, which you'd find in a repair shop)

someone mentioned 8 series. which is the car i have looked at buying for the last few years. 850csi, yummmm. with m parallels, full oem engine rebuild, manual gearbox, coilovers, and a nice polished quad exhaust.

but in all seriousness, im thinking of buying an 07 G35 Sedan with Tech for my daily. Oh well.
