Never let anyone drive your car
So my father decided that he wanted to take my car for a drive and parked in a lot somewhere. He pulled up too far in the spot and the bottom of the bumper went over the concrete parking stop. I guess he pulled back and the piece of my bumper cracked.. UGH.. What do I do now??

Hey chrislis, the lip is still holding up okay even with a crack in the stock front end? Does your crack (no pun intended) look like mine (lol). But in all seriousness do you guys think the crack will affect a CF Lip?

FWIW....what I would do....
Since it is Dad, Dad does not pay nor is Dad dinged on any insurance claim.
I would get a bumper cover repair kit at a jobber and repair the crack from the inside.
Then putty and brush touch the grey on the outside. (The damage is low and perhaps (perhaps) a steep driveway will scratch this area again).
After the brush touch, the "lip" talked about in the above threads could be installed to further hide the damage.
Or send it to a body shop and ask for a loner car (which I would not do).

Do you want to know my DIY?
Drill six small holes, 3 on each side of the crack. Use three thin zipties and fasten it tight. Proceed by installing lip.
Mine hasn't had one single issue other than smashing speed bumps, driveways, and such. But it hasn't sagged or cracked at all.

His crack looks like it will be visible above the lip.

claim insurance if you want to get a new bumper, tell them something hit your bumper on freeway, so you just need to pay the deductible without increasing your premium. If you want to pay less, ask the body shop to rebuild the bumper without using your insurance.
