Dangers of High Speed?
The whole rest of the drive home I was thinking that this may have never happened if I had a front lip spoiler(?).

Has anyone heard of this before?
Does anyone on here drive without this part or should I be looking to get a new one?

No, I do all my own work, and I did take that off on the last oil change 6K ago. It's had (2) 14hour/1000 mile trips (non-stop) since then with plenty of high speed. I think that may be the root cause, seeing as there was high stress on the points for long periods of time...? Anyhow, It looks like I'll be cleaning up under there, it is pretty ugly looking, anyone see anything wrong with spraying regular old engine cleaner on the undercarriage parts?
thanks, glad I'm not the only one.
11 days and we'll find out
Man.. I got a good laugh out of this thread. Anyway, you really should replace the skid plate. All the car manufacturers are starting to put these on but they are so cheap. Problem is the screws the threads either start to strip so that it's not held on too good, or you'll run over something in the road that tears some of it off (happened to me). I drove my last MB for over a year with a whole section missing
So without the plate you'll get water splashed up in the engine compartment. The most common issue on many cars is the alternator getting wet and thus corroding.I just don't understand why they don't make these things out of metal!
Go F&F 5 !!
