No, I'm done. I was going for the stock look (the way it should have been equipped from the outset).

What's a good place to get new AMG replicas besides ebay? I'm in San Francisco.

I originally wanted to get chrome 18" wheels, but from the feedback, I now want to get 19" machined with gun metal accents. My car is not lowered, no fancy brakes/suspension, what offset do I need? Are spacers necessary? I read that 10mm spacers are needed to prevent vibrations.

Do you recommend 235/35/19 for front & 265/30/19 for rears? Will it rub when I make turns? What about tire wear?

Thanks for your help.

What's this thing about the tire pressure sensors and speedometer sensors on the wheels? Will I have to buy new sensors or can I take them from the OEM's and put them on the new wheels?

You should be able to reuse the sensors. USArim is where I bought my AMG reps and they are also a sponsor here.

What do you think of these wheels/tires?

http://www.usarim.com/mercedes-wheel...ng-p-1688.html

I wonder if they come in silver instead of gunmetal.

18x7.5 with 37 offset is standard on a CLK550 front, so you're probably ok.

I would prefer not to use spacers if I do not have to.

I am looking for an 18 8.5/9.5 setup.
Aren't the fronts on a 550 a 37 offset from the factory? Have you confirmed a 35 won't work? I'm looking for my 550 myself right now, so I'm curious.

Weight of replica wheels

I've read a lot of posts about wheels and spacers and fitment issues but have not seen any discussion of the weight of replica wheels. The reason I bring it up is that I bought a set of replicas for a Volvo C70 a couple years back from OEWheels LLC and they were about 10lbs heavier per wheel than the factory wheels. Rightly or wrongly I attributed the difference to having to use more metal because it is lower grade. I could definitely tell the difference at first - sort of a sluggish feel. I'd hate to buy some for my MB and have it change the feel considerably - or slow acceleration from a stop.

Is that a consideration you guys take into account when wheel shopping or not? Is there even a way to find out the weight of the factory wheels short of pulling a tire and putting it on the scales?

My AMG reps definitely weighed a $h!t load. The difference was night and day when I switched to the Forgestars.

I called them (usarim) and they said it only comes in gunmetal, I prefer silver though. The price is $725 just for the rims. You also have to pay for shipping which is around $100.

They also have a wheel/tire package. Do you guys think it's worth $1695 for this package? if you prefer chrome, it's only $100 more.

It's a good price on the package deal. But I don't know about the rear tires. They might rub..

Will these rims fit on my W209? The price seems very good for OEM AMG wheels with brand new tires.

Those are reps. I don't know about prices in US but OEM AMG rims cost around $3500 and up without tires.

Most places that sell rep wheels are up front in saying they are reps - like OEMWHEELs+ or USARim. A few shady ones try to say they are real. This looks like one of those. Send him a messge asking for a shot of the MB part number on the back side of the spoke. Plus, this guy has a 90% postive rating, which in e-bay terms is pretty bad.

Do you know if genuine MB center caps fit the reps you got from USArim?
