Shifting in to Drive-delay?
Hi,
just inherited a 2000 CLK-320 from my Dad a few months ago. For the most part it has been kept in good shape. During the last few years he never drove it and it only has 52K miles. Since getting the car i brought it to the independent Mercedes service -had it looked over and ended up flushing the brakes as well as having the trans serviced.
Ever since i started to drive it i have noticed that when i shift from park to Drive it takes about 8 seconds before I can accelerate. It i try to cut it shorter the engine revs...then i hear a thud and I can then accelerate. This obviously is not something i do often.
My mechanic thinks it could be a tear in a trans seal and subsequently taking longer for pressure to build up. Anyone had this problem?
