G'day Louie, I too am wanting to hear more and thinking seriously about using the product over full bonnet and bumper at least. Just picked up our new E Coupe in Sydney and on the drive home across 2 States scored a stone chip on front bumper, I don't want any more.

Louie, you mention theres some negatives, what are they?

Regards
Trev

Hey There Trev,

Well the negitive that stuck out was issues with peeling and yellowing, also it will scratch easy when cleaning the car.

I just had a clear bra installed on my bumper and hood. I see no negatives. The film has a clear coat on it - you can polish it like you would paint. If it scratches, better the bra than your paint. As far as yellowing, ive heard it's possible after 3-4 years, but more like 5-6 years, maybe. By then, it will have enough damage to it that you can just peel it off and have it redone. Worth it to me to keep the paint in good condition.

Recently spoke to my nephew who has 2 cars, one with film on it the other without. Car with film has been on for 4 + years and the paint and the film look great no ill effects, the vehicle without film is peppered with stone chips from paint and that's on a freeway in a Capital City, not in a rural area like ours.

Have only recently got our new E coupe, so for us I think it's a Yes for us.

I have gotten 2 one was 500 one was 150 both were for the front bumper and part of the hood. I am calling the guy that was 500 and ask why there such a big price difference maybe I miss understood him.

I may put it on hold for a bit I have been eying a few new front bumpers.. I knew i should not have joined this board , all you guys are goona cost me more $ the more I read.

I let you know what I find out in the price difference.

Yes, welcome to the forum and sorry about your wallet

I would not be surprised you got such wild price deference. Some places will charge the Mercedes tax that can be quite high. When I was installing my coilovers I got 5 quotes ranging from $400 to $1500 I went with the place that was very honest and felt right and also quoted me $500. By the way if you want to drop the car I have springs for sale

I will call a few places to get quotes but I will tell them its Ford Taurus and ask them if there is a price deference for comparable size cars and if they say no then I will tell them that in that case I will do my Mercedes E class first
