Remote Window operation issue need help please!!
Guys,
My key is no longer able to take the windows up or down. I took it to the shop and they said it might be the RF receiver on the door. The only reason I'm doubting it is because the key it self isn't able to either... Should I check anything else? We tried to reset but it didn't work.

The convenience open feature for the windows uses IR signaling, not RF, so being able to unlock the doors with the SmartKey only means that the RF transmitter is working. You must have line-of-sight between the IR transmitter on the SmartKey and the IR sensor on the door handle and it only works from about 5 feet away. Dirty IR sensors can cause problems, as can a weak batter in the SmartKey. Also, the sensors in the sensors in the door handles do sometimes go bad. Try using the passenger side door handle sensor. if that works, then it could be a problem with the driver's door sensor. If not, try replacing the batteries in the SmartKey.
