Mike did his homework, priced right, marketed right, sold quick. Can't say for sure if OP might have fared as well in KC, as maybe a 550 in NY/NJ scares people re: gas costs? I agree that the depreciation/discontinued model BS is just that, and if it were me, I'd be tracking that VIN for the resale price and driving myself nuts. Man, I tracked the black 350 w/ the BiX that a lot wouldn't sell me for 6 months after I bought mine, to find that they eventually sold it for less than my offer. Not sure what that exercise did for me.....I was right, but didn't get my first choice car?

One lesson here is to know what you have. Exact market prices.
No guessing what it is worth with all the mods and money you spent getting it there etc...
A lot of resources are out there to find what a vehicle is actually worth. KBB, NADA, auction buy bids, market analysis etc...
Know the trade, private and retail values. Those prices give you the range of what you could expect from each, and a starting price point.
Just because a car has a 1500.00 spoiler, killer 3pc. wheels and high end tires, big brakes, CF this, CF that makes no difference. The cars value is its value.
The only way you recoop those mod cost is finding that one person that is looking for exactly what you have and willing to pay the extra cost up and beyond the cars real value. Rare.
Trying to sell a car just blindly and by word of mouth will yield a short end of the stick for the seller.
Research, advertise, sell.
The extended warranty thing is another time. Just remember when you buy one, to ask the question;
"If I don't keep the car before the extended warranty expires, can I cash in the remaining value of the warranty"?

Damn... why did I hesitate. Another life lesson on procrastination.
I was trying to sell my car to get this one but I didn't work fast enough~
Thanks anyways for giving us such a good offer.
