To add along to the CLK as I love my car too much I'd go with the X6 or Range Rover Supercharged. I've always had coupes so a powerful, luxury SUV would be my choice, but I'm in love with the new Jags. They've done a great styling job so that would be a possibility too.

x6 is cool looking crossover, and has that great BMW feel. do a search for top gear review of it... GC is not a fan, but the video is pretty funny.

E550 coupe, the newer twin turbo version. I think it will be a good bang for the buck in the future after a simple tune for not being an AMG. Its got a beautiful interior with the pano roof and a smoother ride with all that power

Looking at the x5 5.0i-drive for the wifey...... test drove one a couple weeks back.. TT V8..... compared to our ml500 the x5 is a BEAST! Handles/brakes/accelerates like a sports car.

If something happened to my 05 CLK55, I would look for another one. Otherwise, on the high end, wise E9x M3, C63, or 997 911. Or I may just go cheap, and look for a decent C32 if any still exist.
