I raced a new E 550 with my clk 550 today....i was spanking his *** up until 70mph where he then sped off like crazy...

I was only using S mode and not using the shifters

as pathetic as this sounds
HOW DO I SHIFT when I race??? i should not have lost to this guy

 

How did you spank someone up to 70 and then loose to a car that has 100 less hp and weighs more?

 

I agree it sounds odd that a guy can 'spank' someone up to 70mph then get his *** handed to him but whats up with the 100hp less talk? The new E550 has the same M273 that sleepy has, 382hp & 391tq...

The 100lbs weight difference wouldn't make much of a difference at all, I mean sure the CLK would accelerate better than the E and put a little distance on the guy but the whole 'spank' then reverse the roles thing is very odd. Just on the surface it sounds like he was racing a re-badged E350 with a healthy shot of nitrous

Btw if u wanna race start at least by turnin off the ESP if u dont wanna go for dyno. This will help u not cuttin of the engine when ur "smashin" the accelerator then try to shift up when ur near the redline (u could go after the redline if u want)

Thats what i used to do with my 540i and cls550... But always under the autorized speed limit on public roads... of course.

 

i really thing its how he shifted....it was a brand new e550 without plates and a new dealer license plate frame so i'm pretty sure its not modded
