Damage CLK500 need your opinion and advise

Hi,
Most of time I post in E55 section so like to introduce myself. Here I need some advise from CLK section. I am currently looking to purchase a salvage un-repair car. Here is what I think I need to replace:

- Front bumper (approx $500)
- Side fender ( anybody know how much would cost ? )
- Air bag ( again, anybody know how much would cost ? )

What else need the car from the picture of engine bay, i think something is missing but i really don't know much about CLK. The dealer claim the car car start and run (only the bad left front tire) Opinion need please !

Also, CLK doesn't have airmatic suspension right ? just want to make sure.

Thanks for any opinion and advise. The car is 2005 with 70K miles on it.

Looks like you need more than a fender. And what condition is the parts of the car the fender bolts to? Looks all bent. As for the engine bay, all I see missing right off is the front half of the big black engine cover. No big deal. But I can see the timing chain. Not supposed to be able to see the timing chain. You need a pro to assess this car in person. And on second look the strut tower on the passenger side looks mangled.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
If they are asking any more than about $3K for this car, then I'd walk away. Excellent condition retail book value is only $19K. Given that this will be a salvage titled vehicle, you can expect it to be worth much less than that, even if you repair it to full factory-perfect specs. My guess would be $15K if that much.

This car will easily need about $12K worth of repairs - and that's just from what can be seen in your 3 photos. It assumes that the A/C system, radiator, alternator, power steering etc. is undamaged. If any of those are a problem, then the overall repair price will exceed the value. In fact, you'd probably be better off buying it and then selling the parts.

Of course if you could get this car for around $3K, and then an identical rear-end total for about $3K, then you could build one good one for just the price of labor, sell some leftover parts, and maybe come out ahead. That's what the professional rebuilders do. I would not take this on as a shade-tree project.

oh..... thanx for all the advises, the car is selling as it for $6K and if the valve gasket is crack then forget it.... the repair will cost more than i expected.
I was thinking around $5k to make it work.
$500 front bumper, $1K for side fender, $1K for air bag, $2K for body work so about $5K to $6K so total cost around $12K
For now, i think i will pass on this one.... not salvage title are about $16K to $18K and I am not even sure i can make this car total cost $12K ....
