Congrats! Can't wait to see the pics. Wish we had top down weather. I've only had the top down once since my late October purchase. Enjoy the ride.

Somebody hit it this morning--somebody hit my EFFING CAR.
top of the trunk on the lip--about two inches long scraped the paint off--big gouge out of the lip. must have backed into it with a ladder or something--nothing on the bumper, only on the trunk

can't believe it...am shocked. what do i do? get new trunk lid? take to an MB shop? I am SICK.

Bummer. A pic might help others assess it, but based on your description I doubt you need a new trunk lid. Doesn't sound too bad. You can take it to an MB shop, but I'd ask around for good body shops in the area. I'd ask at an Indy MB mechanic shop.
Wait - you mean a ladder on a moving vehicle? Maybe it's worse than I think. I pictured somebody walking.

I know it bums you out, but that's a pretty easy fix for a good body man. And black is not too hard to match. It will be good as new.

A spoiler might cover that up pretty well

Check out the spoiler thread HERE for more pics; JBSpeed is a sponsor, prices and fit are great (I have one).

A good shop will spot repair that very easily. You won't know they have touched it!

Yep, just get it fixed and go on with life. I used to obsess about every little scratch, dent and chip, but as I get older, I realize "it's just a car" (yeah, OK, shoot me now!). Seriously, I buy my cars to enjoy, which means driving them in the real world where **** happens. I know it's incredibly frustrating to have something like this happen so soon. Two days after I bought my CLK, someone put a nice dent/swipe on it between the passenger door and rear wheel well. It's barely noticeable, but I know it's there. I haven't bothered to get it fixed. In a way, it makes the other daily wear-and-tear more bearable.

Rud! Wish I would have seen your post earlier...ugh, at least I m not alone. 2 days, I feel ya!
Anyway got the car fixed..400 bucks..concentrated on the paint job when I picked it up today. Very good work!
Went to show a friend..and realized they had replaced the badge, which I knew they would...but my CLK came back to me branded as an SLK!! So back to the shop I go!
