Car Warmup

Do not demand peak power or RPM from the engine until fully warmed up & clearances have normalised.
Once the RPM drop (about 20 sec.) then drive off slowly according to User's Manual. Our's car is equipted with air pump which pump hot air from the exhaust back into the engine during start up to warm up the engine faster.

Not necessary to wait until high idle stops. In cold ambient conditions this can take a long while.

I'm usually starting in negative temperatures for a good 6 months

One thing I would add is to wait about twice as long for the oil to fully warm up, as the coolant (as indicated by the temp. gauge, obviously), before driving "hard". This advice would, more or less, go for any car, BTW.
