Mufflers, AGAIN? Yeah, I know... but
OK, I've read, I think, every post about mufflers. I'd love to do the quads, and I've seen some sick installs, but that ain't happenin' now.
WHAT I NEED right now is to find a muffler to replace the OEM, that will give me a little more sound. Keeping the secondary cats and resonator for now. Want it to be an easy fit and have dual pipes out the AMG bumper.
Anyone do this? What did you use? How does it sound? My Harley has pee'd off enough neighbors, I just wanna hear a little of the V8!
2004 CLK500: K&Ns, Brabus 18's, nothing else... right now.![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)
Thanks in advance! And, Ducatinicolo, thanks for the Brabus deal... they are perfect! No pics yet.![Embarrassment](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/redface.gif)

by dual pipes do you mean two coming out of one side or one from each side?
for a straight up replacement for the OEM muffler I went with the magnaflow 11249, but if I were to do it again I'd go with a 11219 or a race series. The 11249 took some custom piping because it was a little bit too long and it's really not that loud.
not sure if it helps, but https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...ut-mods-2.html check there for pics. I kept the single tip look to make it look as OEM as possible.

Thank you, guys. Kameno, I didn't think about keeping the single tip and just sticking it back onto the new muffler. I like that... until I go for the diffuser and quads. Thanks for the part numbers to get me started. And that link got me into some other threads I hadn't seen... more ways to spend money.
There's so much info here that it's hard to read it all. Wifey thinks I'm surfing ****. Well, in a way..
Kevwood, Dynomite, you mean "awesome" as in LOUD?
I've read a lot of your posts, and y'all make me smile!
