clk550 stall
I have a 2007 clk550 cab v8 with 24000 miles. Vehicle is stalling for a second when accelerating from a stop when cold. Appears to be ok when warmed up. any ideas?

Are you sure it's the engine stalling and not the transmission slipping? Watch the tachometer to verify. What about any error codes/MIL?
After the timing gear replacement, mine was slipping between 1st and 2nd. The dealer checked transmission fluid and found it very slightly low, and then upgraded the TCU firmware and all is good. It appeared to just be coincidental with the repair, but I will say I am very pleased with the new software - shifts are smoother than ever.

Thanks you are probably dead on. I'm reading about balance shaft issues with these vehicles. Was this your issue also? How many miles on your car? Is this something I should get checked out quickly? I'm out of warranty now!
