hi all im new to the site
have recently just brought a 52 plate clk500 w209 which i believe has the bose sound system and sub in rear parcel shelf
the stereo, nav, phone etc all worked fine then one day the sub cut out briefly,then was ok for awhile longer, then all speakers except the sub cut out for a day or so, then week or so later all sound cut out for a few days, now it rarely kicks back in and if it does its only for a few minutes, iv also notice the stereo says theres no changer (when i no there is) and also no phone connected (again when i no it is)
anyone have any ideas or experienced the same problems? please help

Had the same problem in my 2006 clk 500 w209, it ended up being a bad amp so I had to get it replaced. After installing the new amp everything came back and cd changer button showed up again. Do you have any leaks in your trunk or condensation? You should check the seal.

thanks for the reply, i have noticed on occasions the boot carpet being slightly damp, i asume then thats where the amp is hidden to? can the amp be replaced with a second hand one or are they coded to the individual car? please excuse my lack of knowledge
