Dead Battery after installing LED interior lights
Hey W209 Tribe Members,
Yesterday I finally installed LED interior lights and later went to the gym. When I returned to my car, my car's battery was dead!
Roadside assistance was able to jump my car and I returned to my house to investigate.
I bought my battery last year and I never had a dead battery since. THE DAY I installed the LED interior lights, I get a dead battery. I remember reading somewhere that the door flood lights stay on for a while with the LED replacements, so I put the original bulbs back. I charged my battery with my trickle charger overnight, so I hope I found the root cause of the problem.
Has anybody have a similar problem?

not that i know of.
i have the main light, the back light and the two flood lights in LED. the reading lights are stock. didnt have my battery go out on me, are you sure it just happened out of bad luck? or you might have left a crack on your door open or a light on?
i would say on a free day, install the LEDs, and leave your car on the diagnostic menu so it can read the battery's voltage.
i was in my car just hanging out with a friend just last night and left the music on for 45 + min without starting the car but the diagnostic still showed my battered running at 12.1v. it did drop to 12.0v but thats when i started my car and let it run for a few. still no dead battery tho.
best of luck to you tho

My door flood lights are on all the time but the battery still never ran out. Dont ask me why i dont know lol. Check the map LED or whatever next to it. I say check your Seat module if its not caused by the door flood lights.

After charging the battery overnight and putting the OEM bulb back in the door flood lights, I've had no problems. It could have been just a fluke, but I don't want to chance it so will keep the OEM flood light bulbs installed. I will update this thread if I discover anything new.
