Does anyone know how to achieve OEM SL smoked clear part of tails look
Notice how in the oem tail the clear part is not entirely blacked out ... it's very thinly smoked with some clear going through
Now I know some do nightshade, some paInt, some use tint some use laminix
But these methods all darken the clear part too dark!

I'm beginning to think only an oval inner rim of the clear part is tinted with the inner most part left clear

"resurrecting old thread" alert! What did you do midnight? you seem to have been fussier than I am; I just wanted to wait till I went black to smoke tails (and sidemarkers). I think I'd be happy to smoke the whole taillight, but paint or film??

**UPDATE***
started this project in 2012 and finally made progress. BAKED open the tails and did light smoked out tint. going to paint the outline portion next .... stay tuned..
