Dumb strut question

Got an oil change the other day and they checked over my car while I was there. The service tech told me I had some play in the right front cross strut and that it will need to get serviced before my next inspection in a month (I swear they look for any addition work they can get).

1: I don't hear any noises when I turn yet. Should I?
2: What is a cross strut? Do they mean the strut bearing? I have no idea what to look for as far as a part number.

Thoughts?

I would say if your not feeling it, hearing it, or seeing any usual things like excessive tire wear, cupping... drive on. Moneymongers.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
That's basically, the "lower control arm" on a strut cartridge suspension. The play could be in the bushing were it pivots at the frame, or in the ball joint where it attaches to the steering knuckle (or wheel hub). It probably just needs to be replaced. The ball joint on it is a common failure.

Ahhh.. ok. That makes sense. I know all too much about the control arm bushings going. They all started to go at around 100k on my last C class. Had they said it was the control arm I would have knew what they were talking about. Thanks
