I'm looking for the site that advertised a wood cover for the glove box handle . It was priced at around $50 and was talked about about a month ago.

ForMyMercedes.com. I have one. Don't clamp it like the instructions say. Too easy to crack it. Warm the metal with a hair dryer, and just massage it on with your hands. Good quality and perfect color match.

Never seen a $50 one. The wood overlay is around $100 and the real hard wood one is around $200 but it come with the complete replacement of the glove handle. I got the overlay one for mine Clk. Color match perfectly.

The one I referred to is about $54. The orignal vinyl pops off real easy - just a few dabs of glue. You remove the whole handle to install it. It's real walnut burl like the original - or whatever wood you have. You can send him pics of your wood to make sure he sends the right one.

Yeah.....mine is overlay and installed the same way as you mentioned. If you can find the seller again, please post his infos. That's price is really cheap.

Yeah - I saw the $54 one the other day when searching the net. My car has the Dark Ash in it which I love and I was wondering how good the match was because I would like one. I think it finishes things off very nicely.

I ordered my from formymercedes.com last week for $69. It got it in a couple of days. looks like it matches perfectly.
I was going to put it on last weekend, but decided to wait until I had more time. I want to try and remove the factory black strip and install the burl in its place instead of overlay, so I need to take the door handle off.

I called it overlay part because it not real wood like oem but you have to remove the black factory strip to install it. You can't install the overlay wood part onto the black factory strip because the strip is rubber and it won't hold plus it add too much height and don't look right

You recommend removal of handle for ease of installation.

Not sure what you bought, but what Jerry sells absolutely is real wood like OEM. But yeah, you have to remove the orignal trim piece - it's not an overlay. If you wan't it to lay down even flatter, roll off the 3M tape and use some Goop instead. That gets rid of the thickness of the foam on the 3M tape.

Yes. It is held on by 4 torx bolts. Take you 3 minutes to remove. Then take a real thin putty knife or some other thin but not super stiff thing and just slide it behind the trim and it will come off pretty easy. It's just a few blobs of glue holding it on. Wipe the metal with alcohol, warm a bit with a hair dryer, and press your new piece on. 20 minutes or less start to finish. Unless you go my Goop route - then add another 20.

I note from pics on this thread that Parktronic seems not to be a popular option in the US. I consider Parktronic & BiX to be deal breakers but of course options are a very personal thing.
