The price for the part is not expensive. It the currency exchanges rates is not favorable to the US$ and the shipping is very very expensive !!! $600 to ship 2 pieces of plastic weight probably 15 lbs. total but the box sizes is big though.

CLK W208
Hey everyone i'm from the w208 fourms but i made a custom bumper for my car with the w209 clk55 bottom piece and am intrested in this diffuser for my dual exhaust conversion. A very good friend of mine is the owner of Asuka designs and they specialise in carbon fiber BMW and Porsche wide bodies and parts. They are the builders of all the Miesha designs Carbon fiber parts for their SL Black series style wide body kit so very reputable but do not deal with retail. How ever i spoke with him last wekk and he said that if there is enough intrest in this didduser he is willing to make it. they will be in Carbon fiber (vacumed carbon fiber) and will be epoxy ressin instead of glass ressin. and that is because of few reasons, epoxy ressin does not turn yellow or fade, also it has a shrink rate of 0.05% which is nothing, how ever glass ressin will fade and has a shirnk rate of 7% and that is the reason why many carbon fiber and fiberglass parts dont fit right, the mold is perfect but the shirnkage is what destroies the fitment. anyways the price for a group buy is $600 but i need to get about 7 people and he will require a 50% deposite and turn around time is about 5 to 6 weeks. I will be buying the diffuser and having him mold it unless if someone already has one of these then if they let us borrow it they will receive a free carbon fiber one plus their original one back. let me know as i woul like to get this going if there is enough intrest.

thanks,
Ash

The fitment of the fins and aluminum grille is screwed on that look a little messy. The opening for the AMG exhuast tips is about 1" too small. I will need to cut 1" off toward the inside of the diffuser, on both side. It funny that the instruction also said to do that. So why did they not just design the opening for the exhaust tips BIGGER? I'm also disappointed that I have to cut the middle lower section of the rear bumper more then expected. It said to leave about 1" top of the "black cover" and cut the middle section all off. We're talking about cutting off about 5" of the middle lower section of the bumper. The lip and diffuser didn't come with any screws but the diffuser did came with glue. I will try to install the diffuser with screws from the inside of the bumper rather then just glues it on. I guess it all depending if there is gap. If there's is gap, then I'll definitely need screws to pull it in. I'm not sure when I will have time to install the diffuser. I already started by cutting off only one side of the exhaust tip opening on the diffuser.

I love the lip but damn, it made my car about 1" more lowered to the ground. I drove the Slk the same way I drove the clk out of my drive way and got scraped big time. I now take extreme careful when drive the slk over curves.

F1 diffuser INSTALLED !!!!!! Finally, one month after the front lip spoiler installed, I decide to installed the diffuser today. I really love the new look of mine rear end (car rear end) . The fitment is pretty bad. As I mentioned before, the exhaust opening on the diffuser needed to be enlarges for the AMG exhaust tips to fit. The top of the diffuser line, curve up (instead of straight) about 2mm and so it does not line up to the rear bumper lines. After I fully seated the middle of the diffuser against the middle of the bumper, there's about 1" gap on both the side end of the diffuser. It was pretty hard trying to forces both end in flush against the bumper. It doing so, I heard a some cracks in the middle of the diffuser. The diffuser fins are slightly off center of the bumper and that cause my right side of the exhaust tips .05" off center compared to the left side exhaust tips. These are minor issue that can be adjust at the exhaust hangers point.

The installation, I used the exacto blade to cut the middle section of the bumper off and sanded it.I applied glue to both end of the diffuser but I decided use double side tape in the middle of the diffuser instead of glue for two reason. 1st, I don't have a helper so used the double side tape help to hold the diffuser in place while I forces both diffuser end in flush against the bumper. 2nd, I want to make it easier to remove the diffuser later if I want to repaint it or carbon overlay. If i were to apply glue in the middle, it would be very difficult to remove the diffuser in the future due to limited space access to the back of the diffuser. Well, no more talking, here's the pictures...................

Good job Klinh congrats. You are correct on the fitment you can tell ho exhaust tips are not aligned the same on the right side with the diffuser.

Hard to tell if you are driving though so i wouldn't worry to much about it! Looks very nice to me

I completely re-installed the diffusor today due to the glue that came with the kit wasn't strong enough to hold. The heat from the exhaust tips cause it to come off. So I re-enforces the diffusor with JB Weld, drilled holes and bolts it back on. I also re-adjust the exhaust so now it evenly gap on both side.
