If it works, great. If not, then you'll need to talk to the seller about how to adapt their parts or you'll need to buy a new kit that is NOT error-canceling.

I am not looking for HID or any set-up that requires
mods like wire splicing ect...
I am looking for plug and play lights that may/may not preform
better and look better / different than the base headlights
on a very early 2003 CLK500
If these are available I am wondering if anyone has had
any first hand experience - your opinion - where purchased -
for replacement plug and play headlight systems
Thank-You

With out kits, no splicing necessary. All components simply plug into existing connectors. The only special thing you'll need to do is cut a small hole in the dust cover to feed the wires through. This will be same case for all his as the components have to sit outside. Our wire has rubber grommets however to seal it back up for clean oem look.

seller does not want to tell me for some reason. I guess i am stuck with these lights. If i go to an electronic shop what information should i give them?

They are plug and play, no wire splicing needed. One thing I did do was to relocate the HID ballasts to be inside the housing (there was plenty of room to do that). I also had installed an HID kit for the high-beams, but I did not like not having a good flash-to-pass feature (HIDs take too long to warm up) so i went back to blue-coated halogen bulbs for those.
I actually still have these (removed them form the car when I sold it):

Ok, mixing conversations.... So you have oem xenon and you want to change housing to one configured for halogens? Yeah you'd need to change your connectors and reprogram the SAM.
What we have are hid conversation kits for those with halogens stock.

I may be interested in your lights
Can you restore the HID bulbs to the high beams
I am in no hurry and don't do flash to pass
Are the turn signals "white" or amber
I am not sure what is involved - labor / time - for
removing the front bumper so I need to stop by
the body shop to get an idea
Thank-You

Zuzu Pali, did you ever try installing the LED DRL headlights? I am in the same boat you are. I have the original HID Xenon headlights. They look fine but the clear coat on the lenses is all fogged up. I might try restoring them with a kit, but ultimately I would like to replace them with the new LED DRL lights. I understand there are issues with the wattage differences and the SAM. Any suggestions on how to handle it?
I have found this option on Amazon. It has the LED DRLs and a HID Xenon upgrade
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...k_ql_qh_dp_hza
It says the bulb is 35watts, probably the same as my current Xenons. Perhaps the LED need the 55 watts?
These seem awfully complicated.
Thanks,
Michael

2009 CLK350
Good morning Eddie, how did these lights workout for you? I really like the look of them and I’m thinking on performing the upgrade on my 2009 CLK350
Please Advise and Thanks in Advance

I know I missed out on a group buy not long ago, and I read that a little bit of "custom work" was required with that one, mounting a separate ballast etc. Since the same seller, fishcake 231, now advertises "plug and play," can I assume that that's no longer the case?
03-09 Mercedes Benz W209 CLK Class Chrome Quad Projector Xenon HID Headlight
Another option I've seen is this dual projector, which I'm told is SLR-like (I defer to you more detail oriented members):
W209 CLK 2003-2009 Chrome Dual Projector Headlight
That one says "Integrate with headlight auto leveling system" which I'm not sure of the meaning of (does it auto-level or not?)
There's already a thread about "halo lights," but most (including me) prefer a more OEM look:
03-09 Mercedes Benz W209 CLK-Class Halo LED Projector Head Lights Lamp
Of course, there's always OEM for just a little more than triple the price:
W209 03-06 Headlights Pair Xenon
What's the best solution for someone who wants a relatively OEM look (and function)? Are there other options I should consider?

I don't care - I'm easily found on The Internet. It's not like anything bad will happen. Well, maybe a bunch of MBZ owners will show up at my door needing help. And then I can charge them. So, really, no problem!

No worries - I work from home and get all the deliveries so the wife won't see! And please - do not hesitate to have the installer call me if he has any questions!
Oh yeah, and you can always get to me via my benzbits email.

So if I purchase these, all I'll have to do is to install them and plug them in. I am not afraid of removing the bumper and installing the lights myself.
Another question: Is it clear whether there is a required polarity for the ballasts>
I just got burned by a seller on Amazon. When I received them they had multiple problems, the most serious of which was that the headlight assembly wasn't built for HIDs (the distributor has big red letters saying that if you install HID or LED bulbs the warranty is void). Other problems were that they didn't include resistors, the ballasts were cheap, the left low beam (the HID) flickers, and the right low beam adjuster doesn't work, In the process of getting my money back from Amazon.

I ordered them and am waiting for delivery, In the mean time I have to uninstall the awful ones I ordered from Amazon and ship them back to the seller. I am getting the money I paid back and am out for the return shipment.
Don't be tempted to buy them like I did. Just checked, they aren't listed any longer.
