You can see the difference in the picture above of the bolts. One is round (ball seat) the other is tapered (conical seat)

Look at your wheel lug hole and see which you have.

I think He want to see if the wheel hole bolt is "tapered" or "ball" seat type.

You have tapered/conical bolts. Now see whether you have tapered conical seats or ball head seats on the wheel.

Yep, that's what I was getting at, does the bolt "set" in there like they were built for each other or not

If you need to get a cone seat lug bolt we have them in stock. If you have a vibration at 60 that goes away around 10 MPH later it is most likely a wheel balance problem. Factory Mercedes wheels are ball seat and most aftermarket wheels are conical seat. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call at (516) 870-0351 and ask for Craig.

Hey guys, just to update you all.

I went to the dealer because i noticed my alignment was off. They fixed my alignment and while i was there i told them if they can look at my wheels and see if everything is ok and if the lugs were ok and what not. And they said yeah everything looks fine and lugs are ok too. So i guess these lugs are fine?

And Craig, i might stop by you guys this saturday.

Good idea. I had a lot of issues on my W163 like this and it was tire balancing. Find a shop that has a Hunter 9000 and does road-force balances. Sometimes, both the rim and tire are out of balance, but not on the same radial direction. A good sign of this is a wheel with two balance weights on it. What the shop has to do, and the Hunter 9000 can tell them how, is dismount the tire and rotate it along the rim to line-up the heavy spots so only one weight will be needed.

+1 - Sometimes even finish balancing is required with wheels mounted. I must say that this is only usually needed with spoke wheels like my old Jag

My W163 ML320 with mundane 16 inch rims had to have this. I had new tires put on at NTB and when I drove off, it was shaking like crazy, I took it back three times until someone on the ML forum recommended seeking out a Hunter 9000. My local MBZ indy had one and when they got through, it rode smoother than when fresh off the factory floor (and I know, as I was the one who drive it off the factory floor!)
