Question Suspension Kits

What is the best suspension kit?
Is it Bilstein PSS-9 Coilovers for W203/209 ?
Or the Brabus ?
How much does each one cost??
any answers will be appreciated .

The Bilstein PSS-9 are coilovers. The Brabus full chassis are matched shocks and springs. They provide different performance. Bilstein will give excellent handling and can eliminate the car's serious body-rolling problem. The Barbus full chassis emphazise a lot on a comfortable ride. The handling will improve a lot, but not as much as the PSS-9. You have a third choice which is the Carlsson RS-sport suspension. It has an almost identical setup as the PSS-9, both 9-way adjustable. The Carlsson RS springs are made by Eibach. "Ronald" has installed the RS-sport on his W209 CLK55 recently. He is very happy with it too. You may ask him for comment.

We can only give you all the facts, afterall, its your car and it really depends on your NEED. What exactly do you want to improve?

RE

Thanks guys for the info. I think i am going with the Brabus suspension since i want to lower the car with comfortable ride. But does it make a difference if I only change the springs without the other things (I don't know what they are called) or I have to change the whole suspension??

It is my sister's car muhri but a chauffeur drives it for her because women are not allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia.
And the other two cars are for the driver to do his daily stuff (like bringing grocery and taking/bringing my young brothers from school and stuff like that). But how did you know that women are not allowed to drive in Saudi ?

Harris -
Does this mean that it will be "more comfortable" than the stock suspension (or did you just mean it would be more comfortable than the other after-market brands) ?

And in what sense, or in what aspects, does the handling improve ?

Those "things" are called "shocks" or "dampeners".

There have been extensive debates on this topic over and over again....these are the most recent ones:

I hate to break it to you momba - the whole world knows that. Good luck with your suspension setup - post pics when you're done.

I went with the Brabus suspension kit (springs and shocks). It didn't lower the car that much to look like one of those tuned up civics; just enough to eliminate the gap between the wheel and fender. I haven't put on rims and tires yet, so it still looks funny without 19" wheels.

Brabus definitely had comfort ride in mind. In general driving conditions, it feels very close to stock. It's only when I take corners that I notice my suspension mods. I still get some roll on hard corners though. Does Brabus make sway bars for the CLK500? Does anyone think it would help?

Yes, Brabus does have sway bar kit for the W209. It will definitely help to eliminate part of the bodyroll problem. But I guess you dont want to hear the remedy to eliminate the bodyroll problem completely.

Thanks for the response Harris. I think I'll get the Brabus sway bar.

I'm afraid to ask how I could eliminate the roll completetly. Oh, what the heck...

Can you tell me how I could eliminate the roll completely???
