Service B ...

$249 Service B

plus $150 for brake fluid change

thought that was a pretty decent deal...

thoughts?

249 for a B service is a pretty good deal. they should do: oil change, air filter, cabin filter (the one above the battery). optional/less frequent would be the activated charcoal filter under the dash (just changed that one myself and it is a pita)

yah i know $249 is the absolute bare minimum price..

usually its $220 for the brake fluid change so I got a good deal..

I've had my CLK 2009 for 3 years now so I'm over due for brake fluid by virtue of time (every 2 years you are supposed to change)

i did my brake fluid last year. pita to do myself but bought a power bleeder helped a **** ton.

NO LONGER ACTIVE

I used a MityVac hand pump bleeder on my brakes. I think I paid $30 or so for it. It takes a while to do the job this way, but my garage time is free

Hm $30s sounds like a pretty good deal to me, I think I am going to look into getting one too. Around how much time does it take to bleed all the brakes with the hand pump?

It took me about 10 minutes per wheel - lots of pumping! The CLK550's brakes don't like the fluid sucked out. When I got to the driver's front wheel, I reached in and pressed the pedal and it was at least 10x faster than using the pump.

Here's the bleeder I bought:

MityVac Bleed Kit

EDIT: Oh, and I highly recommend using colored fluid. If your current fluid is OEM (gold) colored, use ATE Super Blue. Then, when changing the blue, use the Type 200 Amber - it's all the same stuff, just different colors to tell when it's changed. Oh, and it exceeds MBZ specs.
