WIndow Closing
My friend has a 2003 CL500. Lately his windows would not close tight, there is a little gap from the top and between the front and rear windows.
I am asking this question here because w209 has similar mechanism 9maybe even the same hardware) becuase of the pillarless design.
Can someone help? What went wrong?

Note that the re-sync process usually works, but there is a flaw in the circuit's logic. Basically, it can't tell the difference between sync'ing in the "fully raised" position vs. sync'ing in the "fully lowered" position. If your auto up/down feature stops working (due to power interruption or repeated interference with window closing), the proper procedure to re-sync it is to lower the glass, then raise it, but hold the lift switch for an extra 5 seconds once it reaches the top. The problem is, if you hold the switch in the lower position too long, it can sync in the wrong direction. In many cases when this happens, the glass with raise fully, but then bounce back down half an inch.
To fix this, de-sync the window (easiest way is to remove the fuse for a minute) and then properly re-sync. Just be careful when lowering the window that you don't hold it in the fully-down position. My suggestion when syncing windows is to just lower the glass half way, so you don't accidentally sync in the down position. Then raise it and hold the switch for 5 seconds once it's at the top. If this doesn't do it, and the window otherwise moves freely up and down, then it's likely a bad controller.

Thank you for this great advice. I went through this procedure a couple times and it fixed my window issue of not sealing tight at the top. Thanks very much.
