Lightbulb Stone/light colored interior protection for 209"s

What has anyone done/thought of to protect the door kick panels with stone or light colored interiors? I heard some mention covering them with plastic. How would this be attached and with what kind of plastic? I've thought of having clear acrylic pieces cut out to protect the kick panels and attaching them with clips...thoughts?

I wish MB made the lower panels in the darker shades like the dash tops etc

I know it shows I have a charc. interior but I'm considerin g stone for another car.

Thanks all.

I just keep cleaning them all the time. When I wash the car I clean and shampoo the inside just cause it gets dirty really quick.

I have stone in my CLK430 convertable because I thought charcoal would be too hot. BIG mistake that was. I've tried every form of protectant like Scotchguard and others to no avail. The only solution is to clean early and often.

My new CLK55 will be charcoal inside.

Absolutely not going to get a light colored interior again! I'm leaning towards Brilliant Silver, Pewter or maybe the new darker silver for my '04 E55 with charcoal inside. I have Brilliant with charcoal on my E55 now and it looks better than the Brilliant with stone that my mother has in her E430. I haven't seen the CLK color choices yet but I'm leaning towards another dark blue like the Azure with blue top like I have now. Only thing I'd change is the interior to charcoal.

The first CLK430 convertable that I ordered in 2000 came with a purple/lavender top instead of the dark blue like I wanted. It was truely ugly so I refused the car and re-ordered it correctly. The funny thing is the interior on that car was 2-tone stone and charcoal. It was not like the E55 2-tone combo but I've never seen it again. It had charcoal in all of the right places.

I haven't seen it, but apparently Brabus has panels that cover the lower section of the door. I know that with my Ash interior that area is constantly getting dirty.

On the subject of "would I do it again"... I'm all about black cars and like the contrast of the light interior. I think it looks great, but god damn is it is a pain in the ***! If I bought a silver benz I would have gotten black/red interior.
