Looking for Wood/Leather Steering wheel...can't find proper colors...
Dear Gents,
My name is Zoltan from Hungary, Europe and I'm driving a 2002 W209 CLK240 Elegance one of the very first 209s. Unfortunately my leather steering wheel looks very bad and looking for a replacement. I believe the combination I'm looking for is Burl Wood (the lighter one) and Ash Leather.
This is the exact one I'm looking for:
Of course I have the Airbag and buttons and such. I checked E-bay and a couple of companies worldwide, but unfortunately the ones I've found are either match the wood or the leather, but not both...I believe that the same exact steering wheel appeared in the E, R, SL and CLS class as well, but apparently this combination is rare.
Any help would be appreciated!
Greetings, Zoltan

Techincally the wood is walnut burl. Walnut is the type of wood, and burl just means it was cut from a burl - which is the big bump you see sometimes on trees, like a basketball under the bark. I think MB only used walnut and ash - the darker, almost black color. Other than e-bay, parts.com or a dealer, I'm not sure where you will find one.

Thanks Guys! Can you also identify the grey color for me? I believe it's either Ash or Stone...
I had better results with looking for E and SL wheels which I believe are exactly the same of around those years. But still looking for a viable solution.
Can someone confirm for sure if it's the same steering wheel as in the W211 from 2006 and CLS from 2004?
Thanks!

Mercedes CLK 320 W209
Check this:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Mercedes-E-kl...item25723a1a71
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Mercedes-Benz...item4cfe068901
W211, R230, W219, W209 share the same steeringwheel "dimensions" or whatever you want to call it.
I can confirm this because it bought mine with from the second seller in the link.
Do a search on ebay.de for "Mercedes 209 lenkrad" and you'll see what's available in DE and other countries in Europe.
Here's mine(old pic):

I figure if you buy it from Deutschland or Sweden the shipping cost is way cheaper than from US +import tax.

I think I identified the colors. It's most likely Grey/Brown Poplar Wood (apparently there was 3 and not 2 kinds of wood offered!)
Your steering wheel looks very nice, however doesn't seem to match perfectly the color of the airbag (might be the photo only?). Isn't it the AMG grey which is I believe not Ash?
Thank agian!
Greetings, Zoltan

Based on the little bit of your wheel we can see in your picture, that's walnut, not poplar. Post a picture that shows more of your dash and I can tell you for sure.

Yes, you might be right! My one is a simple grey wheel but I believe I have the Brown Poplar Wood parts elsewhere in the car. I've found 3 versions of wood for 209's and my one is the lightest one which is called Brown Poplar based on the US catalogue (I don't know how it was called here in Europe).
