Rim and tire size and lowing $$??

So i just put 20's on my 07 Clk 550 and i feel as if the rim shop had no idea what they were doing they put 8.5/30/20's on the front and 9.5/35/20's on the back seems as everyone else is talking about using less rubber for the rear should i be concerened? Also i want to drop the car but have been told it will $$ an arm and a leg due to suspension lights on the dash going off ect. Just want to know what springs i should buy and how low i should drop it and a ball park on installation ??

What suspension lights? lol.

H&R Sport springs cost anywhere from $250-$350. A good shop should charge roughly the same for installation, so you're looking at under $600 for a complete install. This is what I've experienced so prices will differ in your area.

I seriously suggest you visit a different shop, one that specializes in suspension and brakes. The clowns you're dealing with are, well, clowns...

Check out this sticky, a wealth of info;

Good luck

I'd say a 225/35/20 would fit for the front on the 20x8.5 rim and a 255/30/20 for the 20x9.5 rim on the rear.. These Tyres will be think and slightly stretched but I think it's the only way to be able to fit 20 inch staggered wheels and be able to lower them without having rubbing issues.. I'd say get the eibach 30mm sports springs as they won't lower as much as the H&R so at least you get a bit more clearance to Play with..

spings + struts/shocks will cost in the upwards of 1k without installation.

disco, he was referring to getting a malfunction on the dash.
answer to that is no, you wont if you swap out the suspension. our suspension on the cars are pretty basic when it comes to parts.

as for the springs, id check out that thread that kev posted up. take a look at all the different drops on the cars. and see which suit your style the best. the best part about dropping a car is its uniqueness to your own liking.

ideally, youd get adjustable suspension to dial in the perfect ride height, but not nec. needed. spring and shock work for good entry level suspension work. i had a suspension thread a long time ago, should look that one up on the different suspension options i found at the time.

gl and have fun with modding. welcome to the clk family too ^.^
