likely dumb question about sidewall leak...

Cyanoacrylate will not fix that. It's not flexible once cured. Only fix if no cords are damaged is an internal patch.

Yep, that will need a patch and even then, I doubt you'll find a tire shop willing to do it. Patches on sidewalls rarely work because of the flexing of the tire. It's probably time for a new tire.

Agree. It's in a bad spot for a patch.

Any tire store would not take on the liability if something bad was to happen.

As stated by Rudeney, flex is the main reason any type of patch wouldn't work.

It just sucks that it is so small and probably on a tire that doesn't necessarily need to be replaced at the moment.
