OK, so that is the e-brake sensor. I would like to tell you that it's an easy fix, because really, it should be, but it's not. It is just a simple mechanical switch on the brake pedal mechanism, but the stupid thing is a real PITA! When I installed the Pioneer AVIC in the kid's C240, it wanted a connection to the parking brake to enable video only when stopped. Well, After trying to tap into the switch wiring, I dislodged the damned switch and it took hours to get it back in place because there is no room to work or even see what you are doing. After all that, I found out it's not a typical ground circuit like the Pioneer wanted, so I had to hack it to make it sense that the parking brake is always on (so much for that safety feature!).
