Stereo cut off then on issue...
When driving I notice the stereo will cut off and back on for a split second, then after that happens I can hear static( popping static sound) then at times when that happens I will turn off the stereo for a couple mins and it goes away then randomly will do it again , what gives ?

I've had two instances where I had a lot of static in my radio (actually on iPod or Sirius - I never listen to OTA radio) and both time, shutting off the engine and restarting solved it. My understanding is that it's a defect in the head unit.

These pass few weeks I'm getting the same problems too, I've checked the Fibre connections and speakers and everything seems to be fine. Sometimes it cuts out and sometimes there static coming from the speakers. Turning off the stereo for 10secs sorts it out.

Hmm, turning my radio off didn't solve the problem - only shutting off the ignition helped. I know some people recommend pulling the fuses - 23, 26 and 36 - to do the reset.

Same problem here. I believe this is the outdated fiber optics acting up.
My cd player would do this, so I went to the aftermarket iPod hookup, thinking my cd player was the problem, but now after riding over bumpy roads I still get the cutout even with the iPod interface unit.
