[help] Side mirror parking assistance?
Hi guys, does the CLk350 have that? mine is a 09 with the amg package.
its weird, because when i am about to turn i notice my mirrors move a bit to help me see better, but when i park the mirrors do not move to help me park. i always have to open the door and look if im close to the curb or not. that and no auto folding mirrors really **** me off!!!!!
thanks for any help

My 2009 350 has auto folding mirrors with park assist. You can control them manually from the mirror controller for folding etc. & turn both auto functions on & off on the convenience menu. They were standard spec here.

I just got an '05 with 13,800 miles on it.
The little old lady who owned it kept every receipt and when I went through them, I noticed that she had paid to have curb rash "erased" from rims not once but TWICE !!!
She didn't get a better sound system, but did get Parktronic. I guess parking was her problem.
She had rims sanded and painted. And then I discovered that the car always had the ability to lower the passenger mirror when in reverse. And she HAD NEVER ENABLED IT !!! So, she might have saved herself those repaints if she had spent a little more time paging through the owner's manual.
ANd it took 5 seconds to set it once I read up. If you have it on the car, it is simple.
Basically you put the car in reverse and then adjust the passenger mirror to look down at curb and hit the memory button followed by your setting (ie, 1,2 or 3). That's it.
When you put it back in park or drive the mirror will wait approx 10 seconds and then come back up to regular position. It's a really nice feature and I don't see it on the window sticker so it either came standard on all of them in 2005 or just on the CLK500. Or maybe it is part of Parktronic.
Between that and Parktronic I am hoping to avoid new curb rash.
