CLK550 VS E92 M3 RACE
BEFORE we get our panties in a bunch i would like to say i have seen another guy on the forum who claims to have beaten 2 or 3 m3's already and i saw all the **** he got for it. I purchased my 550 a month ago and at that time i was calling bull**** also haha!
However....
My own brother has an 08 e92 m3. Modded with a full fab speed exhuast, rpi scoops and a pulley. Ontop of that it came with a DTC transmission. I have driven the car multiple times myself and it pulls.
Stock m3 is 420hp, we never got it dynoed, but at least he should be pushing 440 to be modest.
Anyway, first day car came in i raced him. CRAZY OUTCOME...not...he beat me but BY VERY LITTLE. It was pulling on me after 60 but very slowly i was surprised! We even did some rolls in 1st from 20 it was almost dead even. The only reason he pulls on me is cause of his DTC! Before you go posting stats i know the 550 has 100 more torque than the m3 but still! After that race im thinkin i can pull on some m3s but have yet to race some

I think most M3 owners expect to "spank" everything. The reality is, there are may cars that can "almost keep up", and the CLK550 is one. So while he wins, he doesn't "spank". Just an FYI, even though "on paper" a 335i might be a better match for the CLK550, you will win. I have a guy in a 335i who works near my office and he insists on racing me about once a month when we happen to be on the same highway together. He always loses, even with my bloated 4,000lb++ cabriolet with the top down.

They think they can trash everything. The other day, I was sitting in my buddy's 997TT PDK and one thought he just had to be cute and rev his engine hard at a stoplight. Light turned green and my buddy didn't step on the gas pedal and the M3 took off screeching his tires. True enough, smokey in a Dodge Charger was sitting there and the M3 got pulled over. We drove by at 25 mph and waved hello
