fitting new wheels

hey guys i just got cls 63amg wheels which, which are 5 spoke 19 inch

the wheels rub against the strut. I was wondering if there is a way to make the wheels fit? Or will these not work without changing the suspension?

Spacers. They must be hub centric. Some have had good luck, other serious vibrations after installing.

The wheels are the wrong offset... You need to get wheels that fit properly or you will have constant ride quality issues

It sounds like the double edged sword. Wrong offsets and tire sizes. What size are the front tires? Anything over a 235/35 is going to be extremely close.

I believe the CLS with 19's run a 255 front, and 285 rear which neither size is suitable for a CLK. Your best bet is to go another route unfortunately.

A 235/35 up front. No spacers if offset is correct. I haven't seen anywhere on these boards that a 285 rear will work.

A 275 with custom made wheels and perfect offsets has been proven to work without issue.

Just make sure you think everything through before just going out and popping for new tires.

Confirm the wheel offsets will in fact work on the CLK front and rear. I know for a fact that a 235/35/19 on an 8.5 wheel with and et32 is within a couple mm's of rubbing the front strut tube, not to be confused with what you experienced with the spring perch.

A 265 rear is the preferred size. And offsets anywhere from 40-25 will work safely on a 9.5" wheel. Good luck with it.

If I'm not mistaken ur front has 28ET and Rear is 25 ... Check it right behind your wheels.

Square peg... Meet round hole.
I don't mean to burst your bubble, but those wheels will never be right for the car.
Your best bet would be to sell that setup and get a set of wheels that properly fit your car. You are driving a MB...
When I said ride quality issues... I mean you will have to run way to much spacer.. You will run into balancing issues. To make the set up work you are going to have to run very odd tire sizes not reccomended for the car.
Of all the mods you must get right, wheel tire combo is most important... It is going to drive youCRAZY and cost a small fortune to keep tweaking the set up to force it to work.

You have a chance to do it right the 1st time.... why fight it

Good luck!

Well said Euro. I have tried to explain it as thoroughly as possible. I even forgot to ask about proper lug bolts lengths and what not.

fusion, its really not worth the trouble you are going through. Just trying to help. Take no offense.

haha, actually thats where i "borrowed" the picture from, theres not enough light in my garage to take pics... i post my link to auction as soon as post it this afternoon.

thanks for wishing me luck.

these new wheels are heavier then the stock amy wheels, and will probably slow me down some.lol

would 235-40-18 be fine for fronts?

or 235-35-18? is the only option?
lol sry this was my last retarted question
