WDBRF92H77F868774 has M272 engine #468571, which is in the range for potential balance shaft failure. I will say that if you are in the USA, $11K is far too much for this car, regardless of potential balance shaft issues.

Could you check my VIN number as I can't get it to work on any of the sites?
It's a German delivered May 2007 car brought to the Netherlands in 2014, ±60000 miles so far.

Cheers!

The mechanic checked the balance and said it was ok. The dealer paid 10k for the car. 2007 class 280 with 76k
Any other issues? What if I can get a warranty? Can I drive this a upstate ny winter?

4MATIC is great for winter driving. How did the mechanic check that balance shaft? There are three ways to check: pull codes, remove the camshaft position sensors and visually check the position of the machine marks on the camshaft adjusters, or actually look at the idler sprocket inside the timing case. The only sure way to know is to inspect the sprocket. The other two methods only tell you that is "has failed and must be replaced". Checking the sprocket itself you can tell if it has worn or is still in factory-cast condition. I have heard of some people using a boroscope to check the sprocket, but I am not sure you can actually see enough of it to tell for sure. Personally, I'd look for a less expensive open that is not in the balance shaft failure range.

Hi, here is my vin: WDBRF52HX7A946213 it is an 07 C230. I had the code P0022 come up tonight and wondering if this is that issue.

WDBRF52HX7A946213 has M272 engine #506079 which is beyond the balance shaft problem range, but it's still in the range for bad camshaft adjuster solenoids (see scenario 2 in the TSB linked below). P0022 = DTC 0276, which is a symptom of that. There are four - one for each camshaft. They sell for about $25 each at discounted parts sellers and are a fairly easy DIY.

Thank you sooo much !! Just bought the car this weekend and codes poped up P0016 & P0017 , car runs smooth and normal like nothing wrong with it , what next ? Replace the sensors or go to dealer and let them do their job ?

P0016/P0017 are symptoms of balance shaft failure. Sensor replacement will not fix this. The engine must be pulled and the balance shaft replaced. Prices will range from $4K-$6K to have this done.
Did you buy from an MBZ dealer? If so, I'd DEMAND that they either take the car back or fix it for you at no cost. They should have scanned codes and these would have been stored long before the MIL illuminated. If you bought it elsewhere, I'd stills ee if they will help. Was there any warranty?

Don't take the MBZ dealer's word that your warranty does not cover this - they are notorious for just dismissing aftermarket warranties because it may be some extra work for them to deal with. I'd read the warranty and see what it says it covers and contact them directly to find a service center they will recommend.
Or, as Paulers said, go back to the seller and see if you can get any relief.
