Tint?

So there is a deal going on at a local tint shop thy uses solar guard platinum tint. They will tint all the side windows and the rear window for $160! That I am amazing deal considering all the other shops quoted me at least $300! Now my question is what percentage should I get? I have always wanted to get 5% but I question getting it just because it's hard to see out of at night. From what I have hard though you start to get use to it. The guy at the tint shop recommended 20% but he had it on his car and it had black interior and I dont think it is going to be as dark as I want it considering I have tan interior. Does anybody have any pictures of a CLK with tint and especially 5% tint? Thanks!

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Here it's 32%. I had a BMW X3 and had the rear side windows and back glass at 5% (which is legal fir SUVs). I had the front sides and windshield done at 30%. That was illegal (especially the front windshield) but the contrast with the dark back half tint made it just look "normal". At night the 30% was OK, but I probably should have gone lighter. The back was crazy dark - it was great when someone came up behind me with brights on, but trying to backup at night was crapshoot.

I've thought about tinting the CLK, but I'd have to tint the windshield, too, and with the top down, that would be too obvious. And I already get pulled over every other month for "driving a Mercedes convertible on city streets" so I guess I won't tint as I need no further reason to attract the revenuers.

Hey guys! Thanks for the responses! I'm not worried about getting fined because around here it's pretty layed back about tint. Haha I know what you are saying about getting profiled by cops though! Part of the reason I want tint is because the car gets way more attention then I thought It would and sometimes I just want to be able to sit back and not have to worry about that awkward eye contact (especially at red lights) Mostly though I get migraines and the sun sometimes irritates them. So the darker the better.

How hard was it to see out of the rear side windows and could you get use to it? Also, why would you have to tint the windshield?

I have a prescription/excuse from a doctor for tint because I get migraines and excessive sunlight irotates them. So I don't have to really worry about getting tickets but I'm not sure if I feel like getting pulled over all the time. I am still leaning towards 5% rather than 20%... I would like to see them both on a CLK first though. 30% seems to be the norm... It looks really good but it's just not dark enough for me. The car already had slight tint when I bought it. I have been told its 35% on the back and 50% on the front and it still let's a lot of light through... IMO

Thanks again for all the pics and help!

Do you have a picture from the side? In the sig it still looks decently light. Is that the case?

You are not going to be able to see a damm thing with 5% all around
Not to mention the constant harassment from law enforcement.
I sutck with the legal limit here @ 32% here is a pic for point of reference

I think 25 would look plenty dark

5% is way too dark. go with 20 if you think 35 is too light
