Exterior is nice but...

..interior still sucks. That's why I went with MB instead of BMW. Can't really do crazy stunts with traffic always backed up here so why bother with the slight improvement in performance.

wow, the straight rear shot of the car actually looks great, but the 45degree angle from the back is so-so. IMO interior is gorgeous. It definitely has a quality feel to it from the pictures. Still, I think they need to get rid of the i-"fiddle w/ control, you"-Drive crap.

IMO your totally wrong. The clk looks like a luxury accord coupe but probaly slower. That bmw is nice imo and it's probaly going to outperform any clk.

The CLK is the best bang for the buck in terms of looks and quality (and performance for the 500). That 6-Series does look good, but it's a BMW. Mercedes-Benz is a much better company IMO, which has a reputation that goes back a long time. BMW makes a great car, and they're getting better, but so is MB.

Yes i'm serious the new clk 320 look just like a honda accord.
How is the clk the best bang for buck? It doesn't outperform any car in it's category? Ok it might look a little better but that's in the eyes of the beholder. The new clk is living off mb name not it's performance/looks.

Come on guys,

rogers loves his HONDA ACCORD which kicks the CLK's a$$ in all catagorys , or not! You can tell the people who come on to these boards to talk smack and hate against us, people just like ole rogers. I find that on the Viper Club website often also.

If I owned a HONDA ACCORD, BMC 330ci, etc, I would admit if another car is better. I have driven the 330ci and wouldn't consider anything else as far as a luxury coupe besides the CLK, and the 330ci doesn't match up in looks or service (of the vehicle and Mercedes-Benz dealership).

I don't even take my Viper to the Dodge dealership, but I trust my MB dealership with my CLK for sure!

The price difference isn't that much, you're talking like the CLK is priced like an SL500, it's not!

G35 with decent options = $35k
330ci with decent options = $37k
CLK 320 with decent options = $43k

If you're going gripe about $5-$8k, don't buy a luxury car. With full options on these cars, they're even high. You're buying a Mercedes-Benz, Infinity and BMW make great cars, but they're not MB. I say that because I own one, and they're the best, PERIOD.

Get off the forum if you're gonna reply and complain to every post by a MB owner. We like our cars, go to the BMW or Infinity forums if you love them so much.

Dude I’m not trying to start an argument. I can guarantee your MB dealership is not better than my Lexus or Acura dealership. Dude I don't have a hate bone in my body but don't tell me some bs that clk320 is better than g35/330ci. "Best bang buck" Please

Dude, Dude, Dude....

I don't care what you own. Acura & Lexus are neat little cars, I'm proud of you. I'm really happy that your Acura & Lexus dealerships are better than my MB dealership also! I could possibly care less about your cars or their dealerships!

I wouldn't own an Acura if they were the last type of car on Earth. My girlfriend has an Acura and her dealership sucks a$$.

Now go back into your little hole where you came from....

When/where are you buying your 500? I would love to own a 500 CAB within the next few years. 300 HP is enough power to get around on the street, just a beautiful car.

C5 Zo6 is a bang for the buck true sports car...

anywayz, this may not apply now, but in 2000, I got my 00 328Ci for $46k OTD and my sister got her 00 CLK320 for $52k OTD. That is a lot of difference for cars in the same catagory.

btw, C32 AMG is the bang for the buck AMG consider that a CLK500 costs more than the C32.

Don't flame me, I am also a CLK owner.

If KIA or Hundai sells the same exact CLK at $10K and anyone can afford it, will we still think the CLK is better or will we still like it?

I don't think MB is a better company. In the recent 10 years, in terms of reliability, MB cars are far behind the big 3 Japanese: Toyota(Lexus), Honda(Acura) and Nissan(Infiniti), no doubt about it. Everyone knows MB quality is not getting better, it is getting worst. Best bang for the buck should go to the G35 Coupe.

We should say: I think CLK is a good looking luxury coupe/cab because it is not cheap, not too common and not everyone can afford it. I am proud of it because I can afford one. Lets admit, it is all about pride.

It is the brand name BIAS. Therefore these days MB makes ****ty cars and still sell very well. MB has to improve the quality. Lets calm and compare price, features, performance, safety, built quality, reliability(new and long term), service, resell value... We will find out a lot of cars are better than MB, if we don't mind other people don't think we are rich because we do not drive a MB.

I really want to see a stock Nissan Skyline GTR vs CLK55 and find out who makes faster cars.

Did you ever test drive a G35 coupe? I did.

I used to own a 99Maxima, 180HP, not 1 day in the shop in 4 years. And I test drove both the W208/209 CLK320. The CLK320 is much slower due to the slower pickup compared to my 99Maxima. The Nissan transmission and V6 are much quicker than the MB tranny&V6. That’s why I paid extra to get a CLK430, not the 320. CLK320 is in the (much much) lower performance class than the G35 coupe.

I will be ashame if comparing performance of CLK320 & G35 Coupe. That’s why MB is making CLK350 because the 320 engine is so under powered.

It is much fair to compare G35 coupe vs. CLK500 since it is closer in the performance category.

CLK500 MSRP $53520
G35 AT Coupe MSRP $31550

We are talking about $22K different.
