Does anyone know if ludwig14 sold his car. Long story short my GF shows me this car she's about to buy and I knew it looked familiar because my brother owns a CLK55 and is an active member on here. I have some questions because some things seem sketchy at the dealer thats selling it. The car fax only shows 58K as the last reported miles but the car shows 81k. Just trying to get some help, thanks guys

 

Carfax only reports miles when it is serviced by shops who report to Carfax - mostly dealers and chain tire stores, oil changes places, etc. If it was serviced by the owner or at an independent shop, the mileage wouldn't get reported to Carfax. Look at the date of that 58K mile report and see if the time since then seems reasonable for racking up another 23K miles. If it was a year or more ago, then that makes sense. If it was last month, maybe not. Then again, Carfax reports many cars with "mileage concerns" because some idiot wrote the wrong odometer reading on the paperwork.
