I'm not certain, but I believe that will fit the pre-facelift (i.e. up to MY2004) CLK. That connector is part of the cell phone prewiring. Oh, and one more thing - if you have the Bose system, I don't believe any aftermarket radios will talk to it via fiber optic, which means you have run new wiring to the trunk to tap into the analog speaker wire there. Also, with Bose, most people who bypass the fiber optic amp/attenuator are very displeased with the sound of the speakers, so a full radio replacement means new wire, probably a new amp, and new speakers.

As far as I know, there are not aftermarket units that will work with the fiber optic amp, but I am no expert in this - I;d check with the manufacturer. I know that the old D2B fiber was a proprietary system, but someone cracked it since Dension's IceLink would work to attach an iPod, emulating the CD changer to use the OEM radio controls. I also seem to recall an adapter that would attached to the fiber and allow you to add your own analog amp, so it seems there are some D2B devices, so maybe this head unit can handle it, but again, I am not very familiar with that unit.

Yes, the fiber optic system is a "ring". if you unplug any device, you interrupt the signal in the ring and then no devices work. If you don't want the CD changer, you can buy a bypass adapter from the dealer that you plug the fiber into to complete the ring.
