Convenience exit setting : 2004 CLK320 Coupe
Convenience exit setting for both steering wheel and seat is set.
A couple of days ago, the seat stopped going back.
Steering wheel still goes up and down when exiting.
Power seat memory postions seem to still work, and the power seat buttons work just fine.
The seat just won't go back when I pull the key...
What could be wrong? I am baffled.

Sometimes just a brain fart. Cancel the function on the menu. Stop & restart the car. Engage function again & see if it works.

Tried re-doing the settings.
Tried to set it to NONE and then add Steering Wheel = Nothing
Tried to set it to NONE and then add Steering Wheel and Seat = Nothing
Confused why the memory buttons and seat buttons work, but silly thing won't do the easy entry...

Move the seat to a different positing closer to the steering wheel and reset the memory. Sometimes it sees the seat as already being too far back so it won't move. Also, try pulling the fuses for the seat control module - #1 and #2 on the rear SAM.

Removed the fuses (#1,2) inspected and reseated.
Moved the seat forward and steering wheel up.
Set the first memory position to the new postion.
Set the Conv. feature to OFF
Turned off car.
No seat movement.
turned on seat & steering wheel conv. setting
No seat movement.
Reset memory position 1, turned off car.
No seat movement.
during all this, the seat will move with the memory button and/or the buttons on the door.
Weirdness.

It's a great feature especially for the terminally plump like me. You need to get this car onto a Star for diagnosis.

İ have the same issue as well. May İ ask something about the conv menu? İ dont have seperate setting in submenu for the steering wheel and the seat. Which models have it? Mine is a european 2008 model W209.

I thought it was fitted to most European models. You need the seat, mirror, column memory package to have the feature. What engine do you have?

I've got the same problem with my 2004 CLK320. The convenience settings are set to remember the steering wheel and seat positions, but it's no longer moving the seat. The problem began after I got the car washed. I suspect they disconnected something while cleaning it. I did a visual check under the driver's seat and everything appears to be connected. Does anyone have any other suggestions on what I might check?
