Chapter 5:MKS Wheels
Finally after much wait the wheels are on the car. I was originally going to get my LM reps repaired and have those put on but I figured it was time for something new. Plus the LMs just didn't flow how I thought they would with the CLK. I spent a while searching around for what kind of wheels to get, right before I pulled the trigger on a set of F14s I saw the MKS wheels on ebay. I figured Id give it a shot and I am glad I did. Weird thing is the prices of the same wheels from the same seller doubled the next week after I bought them, don't know why.
The wheels are Matte Black with 19x8.5 ET28 in the front and 19x10 ET38+15mm H&R spacer in the rear.
As for tires I wanted a stretch to avoid rubbing and I also like the stretched look. I went with 225/35/19 in the front and 245/35/19 in the rear
I am pretty happy with out they came out, I may powder coat them when summer comes around to something more glossy but still black.
I dont have many pics yet because it has been raining like crazy were I live, but as soon as it clears up I will get more pics.
Heres some quick Iphone pics for now

Nice choice! Matte Black looks good and love the fitment. That is some serious stretch with the 245 I imagine. I can't decide on a finish for forgestars lol, perhaps this is what I needed.
Would love more driveability opinions once you get some time on it.
edit: You do storage wars?

Thanks!
Hopefully will tint them this weekend if it stops raining, what kind of tint did you use? was it like a spray on and you just taped around it or something?
Yes I do drive with the "uniquely San Francisco plate and michael has one too.

Chapter 6: Resonator delete and a coupe of additional pics
I wanted a little more growl from my exhaust so I decided to do a resonator delete in addition to my previous muffler delete. Really recommend this set up, its not to loud at all when driving normally, and it sounds pretty mean when you push it hard. Someone asked for pics of my exhaust earlier in my thread so I took a picture while it was up at the exhaust shop.
Also it finally stopped raining so I got the car washed for the first time since I got it
And went to a car meet on treasure Island in San Francisco and got a coupe of pics by the water

Nice Pics!
I used Lamin x which I highly and only recommend. I tried the cheap stuff off ebay and it isn't half the quality the lamin x is. I also got the lightest shade called "tint". I would make sure you don't go too dark because if you do it tends to have to much of a contrast with the red IMHO... been there done that.

Question on the exhaust:
I have an 05 CLK 500 and am looking to go quads as well. I found some AMG replica tips on ebay for a good price. Can you post a sound clip of your exhaust? I currently have a muffler delete only and am debating whether I should just delete the resonator too and go quad from there or should I place a resonated X pipe (Magnaflow #11386) in place of the resonator with the dual pipes. Thanks and BTW, that is one beautiful CLK!
