the clk 320 translates to about 39k US...with the elegance package it will likely get here, I would guess it would be in the 42k range before other options

Why wouln't you want the 240 in the US ! The thing is that here in Europe we pay the gaz almost 4 times the price you pay in the US, furthermore when you own a powerfull car, let say a 430, 500 you have to pay more than 5000 USD in taxes and the list goes on.... so big sales are made in these small engines ! CLK 55 are really seldom here. Therefore I doubt that you see that kind of car (200, 240) in the US.
