I Want My Aux Plug Back

So i just purchased a 2006 clk 500 cabriolet and it has the black Ipod cable in the glove box. I've learned that when this cable is installed it takes over the Aux Plug that is also in the glovebox. My end goal was to install a 3.5mm to bluetooth adapter for my android phone but when i try to use the Aux jack i get no sound.
Does anyone know if i can just remove the Ipod cable and get my Aux Plug back ?

NO LONGER ACTIVE
You'll have to pull out the radio and remove the iPod adapter wiring - it will be an extra wiring harness in between the radio and the vehicle harness. You might consider removing it completely - the wiring and the control box (likely under the passenger footwell carpet) - you could sell it for at least $100 I'm sure.

Hey I have the same problem but I just have an aux jack, no iPod cable. I get no sound when I plug in my Aux. I went to the dealer and they said it'd be $159 just to see what is wrong with it!! So what I did was instead of pulling out the whole radio, I just bought an FM Transmitter with Bluetooth capability. It is amazing. Here is the link to the specific FM Transmitter I bought: http://www.amazon.com/FlexSMART-Tran.../dp/B003PPGOC0 It has an aux cable in case the wireless connection is not so good. If you get a clear signal, which you probably should, the sound quality isn't that bad, in fact it's quite good. You're better off doing that instead of paying up to $700 just to fix an aux port.
My $0.02

Is your car not wired for the Bluetooth puck under the center console storage lid?
