DIY: W209 fix for creaky sway bar bushings (w/pics)

I just finished the second attempt at sway bar bushings on my W166. The first time the shop lubed just the inner parts against the bar, and it creaked pretty bad. The thing about my trapezoid style bushings is there's no upper "cup" for the bushing, just a flat spot of rubber that rides on the bottom of the floor pan....that's the difference. We lubed the base, and lower brackets, and it seems really good now.
Hopefully this helps someone else. Reading all of the stories got me into the zone. The other method I saw was using teflon tape on the bar itself, but that wasn't my problem. I grabbed some double thick grey teflon tape, but never used it. The MB lube is a grey paste, that's all I know. There should be a waxy component, like Cosmoline....?
We used silicone grease the first time, then Lucas Red n Tacky which is a chassis grease, I think. I didnt' feel like arguing. I was interested in red plumbing grease that's called "waterproof" as my next choice. This should be fine.
