If you buy off e-bay, it will say what years and models it works with. They will aways say CLK, plus a couple other models - I forget which ones. And it should say what years. Betond that, I think they are all the same. They guy who said that his 07 and the new one are the same as far as maps is wrong. Tons of updates. When I got my 2011 version a years of so ago, thera were a bunch for sale, Now it seems like older ones. Not sure why.

How do I know which year ? According to the label on the command it says 2008 if that what u referring to .....
Keep in mind I have tried the version 2004.1 and 2005.1 , they both didn't work .

I was just wondering if the head units changed at some point. All the discs for sale say they work in CLK class starting in 2005 - it is printed right on the disc. So I'm not sure about version 2004.1. Anyway, the 2011 one I mentioned should work. If it doesn't I'd say you have a different problem.

On Monday I will send you out my 2010 disk and see if that works
If out works we can figure out a price. I really don't use my NAV. The disk you get has to be newer or the same of the current version in it. Somebody posted some commands to possible check the version in this thread did you try them ?

I know you can go back to an older disc after installing a new one. I flipped back and forth between my old and new one just to make some comparisons of differences. I don't think the player knows the difference - it's just a DVD.

That's Odd I Can not flip back to the older one its says you have a newer version installed when I do..from my understanding it downloads something in the memory I just tried it again. OK I take that back I tried my 2006 version and its says its a older version BUT I just tried my 2010 version and its works. I currently have 2011 so something did change with the older DVDs.

Louie was right once you inserted the new one in you can't use the older version ..... and Louie don't send out ur disc yet let me borrow my friend's disc see if I can use it .

As far as I am concerned all bets are off trying to get that to interface with COMAND. Maybe it will work as a free standing unit, I would not even venture a guess....
