Despite seeing some nice pictures on this site I strongly believe that they dont do the car justice....it just looks so much better in person. Anyone agree?

Yeah, I think it looks better in person. I changed my mind on the color choice after spending nearly 2 hours at a dealer on Saturday. Different colors really give the car a different personality in person.

I agree that the car looks better in person.
What color did you decide on? My 2003 clk 320 is black opal. Personally I think the car looks great in the darker colors with the new body style.

I don't care what color the car is. It is just beautiful. Everyone that sees the car just loves it. This is my first MB and not my last. It was between my CLK and an M3. Even though the M3 kill the my CLK320 in performance the CLK has a more up to date look. A look that some may say is far to familiar with what is coming out of Japan. I must agree that it does have some resemblance to the Accord, but it's the details that set the car far apart from anything else on the street. The pillar less look is in my opinion the best styling feature. Besides when the Accord owner looks in the rear view and sees my grill with the MB emblem he/she will know that there is no comparison.

MB can't help it if the Asian car companies are copying its style.
I had been wanting a Brilliant Silver CLK55 since it came out. I have a couple dozen pics of silver ones, and I wanted 2 silver arrows in my garage. But after spending quality time with various W209s on Saturday, I decided that the car looks best in Black. Black makes the car look tough and mean, while lighter colors look more sweet and feminine, especially with the smooth lines of the car. Not that there's anything wrong with the lighter colors... Just my perception.

Micah...my build date was Aug 18th..
..and I ordered the silver with ash interior. My feeling is that the black / Black Opal is indeed stunning but Im too OCD to have a black vehicle...too much work. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I'll spend too much time even on the light color.

CLK320
Both 208 and 209
looks great. I saw a black 208 CLK320 parked at my building and I couldn't take my eyes off it. Of course, the owner or hired help
did a great job keeping the paint looking better than new. I know, I just bought a 209 CLK320 in black and his/her paint looks better than mine.
I like the "fat" look of the old CLK while the new one has more of a sleek look. Honestly, I have gotten so many looks and compliments from other drivers (including a Porsche driver). And I live in S.F. where high end cars are a dime a dozen. To make the 209 CLK more "fat" looking, I saw one with a Lorensier?? body kit and it looked plain "nasty". The owner did not overdo it so it looked good.

04CLK320
hi all. i'm a newbie to the MB world, but i'm a BIG fan now that my 04 clk320 arrived two weeks ago (build date july 1). it's silver with charcoal interior, yes a standard format, but i just sold my black 323i and was tired of dirt accumulating only one day out from its wash. i'm so happy with this car that i feel guilty, but it's true that the 209 styling is unreal in person and does look ridiculously good in black.
