Coolant leak in CLK 500

I have a coolant leak in my CLK 500. I can't tell if the leak is coming from the part attached to the reserve tank, or if the tank itself has a crack in it. The coolant is building up around the piece attached, as you can see from the pics. What is this piece, and is it an expensive repair, if this is the issue and not the reserve tank?

NO LONGER ACTIVE
That's the coolant circulation pump for the REST system. It's probably leaking. The replacement is about $250 (less at parts.com):
